History of the federation
The AKV EUROPA - Alpenländischer Kreditorenverband is
a purely Austrian company, that has been in the service of its members
since 1924.
29.8.1924: Establishment of the "Kärntner Kreditorenverein"
in Klagenfurt by Prof. Karl Hollinek and a group of businessmen also
situated in Klagenfurt.
30.9.1926: The Ministry of Justice gives the federation the "Privilege
as Defense Association for Creditors" in the sense of the Austrian
Balance Order.
1945: With the new president Robert Pflüger, a businessman from
Klagenfurt, it is possible to build up the federation.
1948: Otmar Koren accedes to the federation and becomes leader of
the agency in Graz.
1951: Otmar Koren becomes acting director and begins to develop an
extensiv concept to extend the federation. The headquarters is transfered
from Klagenfurt to Graz. During the same time the building-up of the
agencies in Salzburg, Innsbruck and Linz is beginning.
1960: The renaming to "Alpenländischer Kreditorenverband
für Kreditschutz und Betriebswirtschaft".
1963: Establishment of the economical center in Vienna.
1974: For its successful working all over Austria the AKV EUROPA receives
the authorization for the guidance of the state coat of arms.
1988: Establishment of the "AKV-Institut für Insolvenz-
und Krisenursachenforschung" under the direction of KR Prof.
Dr. Otmar Koren, the acting director of the AKV EUROPA. A goal of
this federation is the research of industry specific in-plant, sources
of error and non-operational causes in the context of insolvency.
1990: Establishment of the representative office Feldkirch
2009: Enlargement of the branch Feldkirch

Biography
KR Prof. Dr. Otmar Koren
Born 1918 in Graz.
1937 - 1941: Professional training as industrial trader.
1941: Externistenmatura, parallel study at the University of international
trade.
1943 - 1948: War shank in Russia.
1948 onwards: Starting side line study of political sciences.
1949: Overtaking the leadership of the AKV EUROPA with the following
emphasis:
> Reconstruction and extension of the total Austrian organisation
> Re-organisation of the "Constructional Protection of Creditors"
> Study of operational and non-operational sources of error.
> Rescuing more endangered, but viable enterprises in the stage
of insolvency
> Business solutions for the prevention of insolvencies
1963 onwards: Occupational group chairman of collection nature in
frame of the federal chamber.
1970: Award of the title "Kommerzialrat". Judicially sworn
expert for organisation, operating and asset management, industrial
engineering science, marketing and management.
1974: PhD in political sciences. Thesis on covering the fundamental
findings of long years insolvency research.
This work was published in book form, title:
"Wir können die Bewährungsprobe bestehen... wenn wir
wollen! Wirtschaft und Unternehmung in Konjunktur und Krise.
1976 onwards: Relevant cooperation in law committee as an expert at
the publistic preparation of the amendment of the Austrian insolvency
law and cooperation with the development of the German insolvency
law.
1978: Award title "Professor"
1991 - 1995: President of the Austrian Tradesmen`s Union
2001: 50-year anniversary as acting director of the AKV EUROPA.
2004:
Recipient of the medal "Große Julius-Raab-Ehrenmedaille"
2008: Recipient of the „Goldene Ehrennadel der Wirtschaftskammer Österreich für herausragenden Verdienste um die österreichische Wirtschaft

Further functions of KR Prof. Dr. Koren:
Since 1951 Functionary within the range of the "The Austrian
Federal Economic Chamber".
Since the begin of the 70th Training representative at the university
of Graz for the area economical insolvency and crisis cause research.
Since 1950 active as speaker in economic and scientific institutions,
chambers nation wide and abroad.
